Dear Taichung Happiers,

When the light goes on…….
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5UBvzrBb_c

What makes you sing in the shower? Wallace Wattles (September 20, 1860 - August 15, 1911), the author of The Science of Being Great, suggested the fascination you hold within yourself can magic into a superhero. “The very best thing you can do for the whole world is to make the most of yourself.” Now, I can see what goes through your eyes: the dazzling eager expression at first; the puzzled hesitation when the vivid memories of the dream-chasing process carry you back to those bittersweet feelings of which you have thought continually. What’s your crystal clear life goal that constantly excites you? What’s the thing about you that people think is the most unique? For this weekend, our host Micro is expecting Happiers to drag streaming rays of sweet sunshine to flourish our works. Welcome to join us in informing each other of the hope we are hoping for and not have yet.

Serve more, give more, and love more. Do you try one thing scaring yourself every day? Not until we work for something greater than ourselves can we pinpoint our life/work purposes. The American civil Rights Movement leader Martin Luther King Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) urged us to bring the bonds between people to light. “In a real sense all life is inter-related. All men are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be, and you can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be...This is the inter-related structure of reality.” To serve more, give more, and love more, nothing should we hammer away at more than humanity. Yes! That’s what heroes do.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRiwvM8w2rc No! That’s what everyone should and can do. So, turn around, please. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg8xN5U7zJw To serve more, give more, and love more, we cannot afford to underestimate the power of belief. Your identity is the most compelling motivator-- believing in who you are ultimately helps you not only serve more but also enjoy more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXk-uavVpcY To serve more, give more, and love more, empathy is the cornerstone; reading fiction has been proven to be the most effective self-education about empathy. This morning, I started reading Never Let Me Go (by Kazuo Ishiguro) and feeling grateful to capture the deeper perception of friendship. Surely enough, serving more sometimes also requires more self-control. Meet this lovely Ping Pong Pig, please. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibSYLcS6PFQ

Explore further and inquire further. If you were locked in a bookstore overnight, which section would you camp out in? What? Oh, since American essayist, lecturer, and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson (May 25, 1803 – April 27, 1882) intelligently insisted that “Life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.” Hum……. if you could do something ‘just for fun’ what would it be? In what way do you want your work/life experiments to make a difference? Experiments. Experiments open our eyes to see things in different perspectives. Experiments. Experiments develop our capacities to display the spark of originality and creativity in our works. Experiments. Experiments either directly or indirectly connect us with others and the world. Art experiments mark a new dawn for us to understand the world through the light where sophistication and inspiration fly. Everyone is an artist and audience at the same time. Welcome to The Museum. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAkwmiz5gow Moreover, speaking of productivity, quality is equally as important as quantity, yet, sometimes, harder. If opening our eyes and mind to new perspectives is not a path to quality achievement, what is? And, what is a steadier stair than travel experiments to expand our thinking that can be applied to our job performance afterwards? Travel experiments also propose the paradox and principle of creativity—learning and unlearning, learning again, and unlearning again………… http://the-toast.net/2016/04/12/storm-birds/ How about the detective experiments? What influence can the detective experiments have and on whom? Why not make detective experiments more than detective experiments? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26mZa1xpYjw&app=desktop

Reflect and relax. Let’s raise a curious eyebrow. Why are these countries the most productive? http://time.com/4621185/worker-productivity-countries/ In my humble opinion, the more we find inner peace both in life and at work, the more productivity we can accomplish. Nevertheless, inner peace, happiness, and confidence are not accidental at all. Therefore, we cannot overemphasize the value of reflection and relaxation. The way I would like to endorse in particular is putting the reflection on paper, which always brings me an enormous sense of realization and relief. Author, speaker, and marketing consultant Simon Sinek polishes the mirror for our reflection. Except for appreciating what we have, cherishing the quality time with family and friends, and fighting temptation to find a better balance between technology and life, Simon Sinek remarkably reminds us about the significance and practice of patience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vudaAYx2IcE Most importantly, look the synonym of “job performance” in French writer, diplomat, and historian François-René de Chateaubriand’s dictionary: “A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which.” Hey, never get lost!

“PUT SOMETHING IN” (by Shel Silverstein)

Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-gumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
‘Cross the kitchen floor,
Put something silly in the world
That ain’t been there before.

Before you get this mail, I have written, re-written, and re-written again—not because I regard this version is a better one, but because I have been thinking about how to thoroughly show my respect and gratitude. Author Santosh Avvannavar admonished us that “Career isn't about making money as everyone makes something. Rather it's a way of living that would create memorable memories to look back and smile” How can I thank Happiers enough for the most beautiful collective memory? Please also remember that you are already awesome and are always greatly appreciated for sharing your time and wisdom. Thanks again for volunteering to be our warriors of serving, our warriors of giving, and our warriors of loving. Doowit. Doowit. Doowit. Join us. Thanks!!!
