Meeting Minutes 20090620 Minutes Keeper: Sylvia Chang

This afternoon, the Madam President of Tien Mou TMC, Eileen Sun, was engaged in her corporate on-the-job training program, therefore, the incoming president, Brian Lee, served as Acting President today. Brian ushered in a vigorous meeting in his usual witty fashion.
Given an imminent typhoon forecast, members and guests attended the meeting joyously. Without shying of public speaking, guests gave their 2-3 minutes mini speeches, talking cheerfully about themselves.
Our first-time TMM, Janet Chen, set the theme and let assignment takers spark a variety of ideas about how to spend $500 million in one month if we got this sum of money. Janet shared her thoughts with the audience and asked them whether they would like to hear some more from others.—a skillful way to draw people’s immediate attention. She then bridged every session so efficiently that she snatched the award of the Best Session Master with ease. The three helpers, Jasmine Lai, Aaron Hsieh, and Jony Chin were also introduced to the podium respectively to brief their job description and meeting rules.
Joke Master, Thomas Chen, with a comedian look told his joke first and gave another funny interlude which crowned him with the Best Laugh of the day. Five other members also joined in to ginger up the meeting.
Ronnie Yang delivered the icebreaker in which she shared her sincere inspiring experiences and her success after toiled stages in taking the GMAT. She took the floor with her sweet voice, natural carriage, and good word choice. Finally, she had a clean sweep for the awards of the Best Prepared Speaker and the Most Improved Member.
The other prepared speaker, Leo Lin, elaborated the system of MLBs, the audience was illuminated by his learned information about baseball and part of related American culture. His baseball idioms received favorable response from the audience.
Table Topics Master, Alice Chen, innovated the session with an intriguing game that got many more to speak, even guest like the 14-year-old Scott spoke fluently.—A creative smart way to involve and interact with the audience.
Individual Evaluators, Vivian Wu and Ivy Yang provided the speakers with constructive helpful feedback. They ran neck to neck, and Ivy won the Best Evaluator by a hairsbreadth.
It was overall a rich and vibrant meeting. At 4:55, the Acting President call the meeting adjourned, five minutes ahead of the schedule.

This is Janet. I am honored to be the TMM for the next meeting. The theme I set for next week is " What would you do if you have NT$5 hundred million (5億) and you have to spend all the money in one month?"

I think if I have NT$5 hundred million, I would use most of the money to invest in fund and bond. And then I would use some of the money go traveling around America and Europe, especially Italy. I think I got everything plan out except I haven't got NT$5 hundred million. Haha. So can you share your idea with us? I would appreciate that if you can reply my theme by next Monday so I can have more time to prepare. Thank you all very much for your help. Hope to see you all next Saturday!!!

Dear all,

After a long vacation, do you have the same problem like me that is no matter how much I sleep but just not enough.
Until today, I still always feel sleepy after i got up in the morning. So I want to set the theme for the incoming meeting as
What you usually do when you are feeling sleepy?(During work/study)

Take myself as an example:
If I feeling sleepy during working, I will go to wash my face with the cold water and go to the social area to look outside the window until I feeling better. And I'll go home early on that day in order to go to bed as early as I can to save more energe for next day.

Do you have any tips can share with us what you usually do to get the 瞌睡蟲 away from you ?

What do I do to cope with the heat wave? There are some tips I can share you. We can go to the places with air-conditioners (for free ex: department stores, libraries, and bookstores..) or just stay at home do some indoor activities. Eating some ice cream does help you get away from the heat wave immediately. And the most useful tip is “Keeping calm always makes one feel cool.” By doing this, you don’t need the outer materials just change your mind and you can feel better.

It's real good question in my working life. This situation is often happened on Monday after good weekend.
First, I tell my colleague about what heppened to me, and what will I do. If my boss look for me, Please kindly let him know that.
「I don't feel very well, because I have a serius stomachache and need to go to the baseroom.」
then I will sleep in the toilet around 10~15 minutes. Ha~ha~
Usually, no one will bother me when I am Stomachache.
