Dear Celia,
We all suffer from tongue ulcer problem now and then. The most effective treatment for this is to take B-complex tablets and vitamin tablets. Take care.

Dear Rock,
You'd better tell the truth. It was your girlfriend who bit your tongue, wasn't it? Admit it!

What if it's just a cut, without bacteria or virus infection, is it still called ulcer? Or it's just a cut?

How to say "舌頭咬破一個洞"?
In my opinion, just say
"I had a big tongue bite"
If you really want to mention "洞", you can say
"I had a big tongue bite and found one bump there"

Normally there is just a "bump", not a "hole" as biting the tongue.
In Mandarin, we used to mention "洞", but it's a little weird to mention "hole" in English.

"have/take a bite" means you eat something.

"bite" can mean a small hole made where an animal or insect has bitten you
sentence: The infection is passed by the bite of a mosquito.
snake, ant...... bites
(Longman dictionary of contemporary English Online)

So I feel "I had a big tongue bite" is weird.

How about I bit my own tongue and there is a big painful sore there?

Have an ulcer is quite different from biting one's tongue.

I've got a bitten tongue

文章ForgottenName » 週五 5月 30, 2008 6:49 pm

I think we can simply say I've got a bitten tongue. It is a little bit painful.

you bite your tongue or I bite my tongue means you/I'd be better stop speaking even though you/I feel you/I want to.
