Are you looking for literal translation or idiomatic equivalent?
Don't expect to kill two birds with one stone, everytime.

不就是最紅的藝人嗎?

Alice Chen
best hit singer 指歌手
best hit actor 指演員
依此類推。 看要不要再加上at the moment 指在現今,當下。
如果真的翻成....chicken的話,就變成我們在吃的"雞"了吧 :D

How about "red hot sizzling celebrity" ?

I can understand the explanation from Wayne. Both of Alice and Wayne are so good tutorial veterans to our club ^ ^
Let's back to our topic, and maybe we can use not only " hottest singer" or " hottest actor " in our daily life but also " hottest salesman" or " hottest waiter " .. in every different field. Can we ? ( I am not sure ).
One thing I'm sure is Wayne and Alice are our " hottest english teacher" in our club. I believe everyone here agree it, right?
( Supposed the lady Alice is the one who works in senior high school because of I knew her ; Wayne is so perfect in English as I knew. )
That's all my litte opinion. ^ ^

Cathy here.

Thank you Cathy, but I'm afraid I'm not so good as described by you. I do have a lot of room in improving my English. The cold fact is that the more I've learned about English, the more I'm scared... it's too difficult, and it's too late for me to realize that.

”Hot”基本上只等於-熱門,騷or 辣
與能力,才華無直接關係
很難延申到salesman 的業積和waiter 的服務品質

See you soon

I don't think so. Cause there are so many 熱門/辣 salesman or saleswoman in my company. They are so popular..... And foreigners can know it's meaning.
By the way, Wayne , you are too modest. haha...you are good enough.
I am too busy recently to show up in our club. I will be back to our club after CPA annual auditing work completed.

Hi Cathy,
Come to think of it, the term "hottest salesman" sounds okay to use. It's implied meanings will help you get your point across, especially, when used in a context, But if you google "hottest salesman" you will not find too many hits. 55 is the number of hits, which kinda suggest that the word "hottest" isn't a common way to describe a salesman. The phrase "best salesman" is more common.

As useful as the word "hottest" may seems to be, personally, I will only use it to describe those who are currently in the show business. Since the process of sales is mostly show-and-tell, therefore I've decided to consider the profession of sales an honorary "show" business.
