Dear Taichung Happiers,
On the last weekend of 2012, we discussed how cloud computing technology work and how it affect our daily life. And last weekend, we have our second episode: the leading company of cloud computing age, Google herself. Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1996 and become a super power in 10 years. We were all witnesses the magic of Google. Most of members in club are heavy user of Google search, Map, You tube, and Android system. Each members share how they take advantage of those Google products to enrich their life.
The article is “65 random facts of Google” which is from random facts website. And I like the way they narrated a story about a specific topic. Each single event is the piece of a jigsaw puzzle for how Google become so successful. This kind reading experience is unlike any other. We also learned how Google cloud managing tons of data for us.
“Google knows more about you than your mother” is an interesting fact and may raise security concerns for some people. To my surprise, only me and one or two members have concerns towards Google. It shows Google is a trusted platform provider.
From “Google claimed the Chinese government was preventing Gmail users in China from accessing their accounts” we also learn things did not always go smoothly for Google. Some passion leaders could call for revolution via Google platform. Social media like Twitter accelerated Tunisia’s revolution.
We look into how Goggle became the best place to work in the world. They provide education subsidies for employees’ children, campus-like working environment, and big bonuses.
We have fourteen members came to join our gathering and each member have their own Google story. We do have a good time in our gathering. ^^
