Dear Taichung English Club friends,
It's my pleasure to share Steve Jobs classic speech with you.
Steve Jobs once said: “Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life”
Be brave to chase your unique dream.

I have a dream. No matter to be a grandmother, to study abroad in U.S.A., to work at EVA, to make money by money, to help orphans open their mind, to get married…etc., I am very glad most of you already on the way. Lisa has a dream to have my own café shop on the top of a mountain with plenty of trees and lavenders. It’s a unique café shop filled with books to free share and the most important is that the shop would be opened when I wake up and closed as I want. Just wait, when my dream comes true, you would my most welcome guests.

Here, I am appreciated your join even though it’s cloudy outside. Because all of you, I felt warm in my mind. Thanks our “Santa Claus” for yummy peanut cookies. Also I would like to thanks Jasmine for encouraging me, and providing information for me.

As suggetion from members: it's a good idea to put some game in our meeting. Just like Jasmine read one paragraph of “The conference of the Birds” and ask us to imagine why the birds in the world all gathering together. Why? For competition? for fighting with Human, who knows, and just use your imagination and creativity.

So great to be together on every Saturday afternoon. It's a big gift to share life experience with everybody.

Dear Taichung Happiers:

When it comes to passion and devotion, Steve Jobs’ life stories have a far-reaching influence. Jobs, an enthusiast like no other, taught us much more than the words in his speeches, and our first-time host Lisa effectively demonstrated it to us-- confidence can’t be guided by any coaches, because it is from within ourselves; the best discipline is self-discipline; the best motivation is self-motivation. Lisa’s confidence sparkles the gathering, and I am so touched by her efforts made behind the scenes: before and after the gathering, she worked so actively to collect information about the topic preparation, hosting procedures, Minutes writing procedures, and even the Speech Contest. If Steve Jobs were alive, he must have hired her, because of her potential.

When you are finding what you love, very often you have half a mind to fly high, and keep wondering whether you should listen to the other half of your mind to prevent your wings from being burnt by the Sun. We felt lucky to have our Association Governor Benjamin join the discussion. Except for the tasty snack, he also shared his critical thinking skills and a creativity-provoking board game with us.
