Noverber 20's meeting was rather an emotional one. At least it was for me.
A commencement speech was well organized and delivered, the graduates were not the only people benefited from it, Alice, Happy, Karen and I were also among them. Two points from the speech I can vividly remember.
One is stay hungry and stay poor. When a person has everything or he thinks he does, he is doomed not to improve or lead a better life. Only when we are hungry, we appreciate food; when we are poor, we work hard to live better. The scale can be propotionally extended to different aspect of life. I will say empty yourself, give all you have to others. This includes your knowledge, your understanding of something or even your expertise. When you are empty, you have space to take in new ideas, to accept others.
Another point is live today like there is no tomorrow. Alice and I were a bit sentimental when we found out there would be the last chance to be with our family, when asked what you would do if today was your last day to be alive. Live out the best of you. Appreciate what you have. Accept the difference of others. Life is short. Enjoy every minute of it.
