Dear Taichung Happiers,

What caption will we give to the story of our 2020?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUIp79evYao

When can you say you are ready to love the New Year ahead? How can anyone be immune to holiday sentiment? Everyone is in a celebratory mood; yet, when can you say you are ready to love the New Year ahead? Research results have shown that we really love "fresh starts".
Indeed, they do come more frequently than once a year—we can be stirred with a fresh start every single day. In particular, a fresh Lunar New Year comes as a complete revelation to us. Gladly and gratefully, we receive the reassurance from Historian R. Joseph Hoffmann. “Rightly understood the New Year festival is an act of faith. It is easier for the year to change than to change ourselves. But we believe that somehow, magically, one will lead to the other.” Then, what faith do we have in a fresh Lunar New Year? Time is the most terrific artist. Only when we find the artist’s intentions, can we enhance our appreciation of the meanings hidden in the art work. Time is calling for our strength for positive vibrations. If sustainability is a story of luck and timing, what brings us the ability to react properly in response to an indecipherable wink from the luck, good or bad? Welcome to the Year of the Rat, 2020, to develop the values that empower all of us to unleash our potential and maximize it and make an impact on others’ lives. Welcome to the Year of the Rat, 2020, to spell our mission out with actions. Welcome to the Year of the Rat, 2020, to recognize a new beginning for more respect and trust. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to join us in talking about the already and the previously, about the wishful and the wonderful.

The holiday brightness.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbmnF3KTh8Y Outside, all is vigor and cheer. The fireworks have sailed across the sky in the city and county. Simply yet significantly, New Year Holiday is all about the atmosphere and the experience. There is a lively and hearty engagement. The reason we are really in the mood for celebration is staying with family for days and nights to immerse into the atmosphere and the experience. We are able to grow our understanding of the connection and come to appreciate at a much deeper level the wonderful benefits of having this invisible tie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5r3i8njkOOs Home and family, and the dinner table, the focus of celebration. Food can draw a crowd without any shade of doubt, not to mention that it’s for the New Year’s Day. The reunion dinner regularly requires as much variety of food, especially, lucky foods, as possible. Hummm…lucky foods… We cannot do a better job than luck is doing on its own? Yet, luck would not have its “reputation”, if it simply did what it seems it would do. Therefore, Lucky Foods? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ7V75stdvQ No worries, we actually have the twin luxuries—the holiday brightness of the food and the holiday brightness of the room decoration. Since the New Year’s Eve, as we celebrate the upcoming new beginning, everywhere we look, the world has been in red, red, and red. English critic, essayist and poet James Henry Leigh Hunt (19 October 1784 – 28 August 1859) simply put that “Colors are the smiles of nature.” Standing for prosperity, loyalty, success, and happiness, red is one of the luckiest colors in Chinese culture--red can drive away bad luck and evil spirits. The importance of color red is evident in the home decorations and in the color of envelops used to present children with gifts of money. Now, the remarkable research report about color and psychological functioning by Professor Andrew J. Elliot at University of Rochester can satisfy our inquiring curiosity with a smile. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4383146/

What symbols, voice, or words can ensure integrity and empower our culture? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhJuVdUe8QA New Year Holiday is all about the atmosphere and the experience; we have the atmosphere and the experience when we are searching inside ourselves. According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2020 is the Year of the Rat. Rat symbolizes abundance and the power of black magic, which provokes our creativity and prompts our social connection. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x59EKZXIQHQ New Year Holiday is all about the atmosphere and the experience; we have the atmosphere and the experience when we are searching inside ourselves. Search for the voice of Harmony--the voice of nature, the voice of the universe, or the voice of quietness--the quietness within the deepest part of ourselves? The voice of integrity, bravery, and empathy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOAESqKaqQM New Year Holiday is all about the atmosphere and the experience; we have the atmosphere and the experience when we are searching inside ourselves. Search for the words of humanity. What gives us a kind of cultural identity, a flair of distinction? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfE_MUCpPKE

From “In Memoriam” (by Alfred Tennyson)

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Make 2020 a bridge to our lifelong dreams. No dreams, no reality. A former professional jazz guitarist, composer, and theatrical designer, and now an American computer scientist and Adjunct Professor of Computer Science, Alan Curtis Kay translates “Believe in yourself” into “The best way to predict the future is to invent it.” Believe in yourself. Do you have a mind imperial in its influence, wide in its interests, and penetrating in its preferences? The answer is hidden in your bookshelf—to know your bookshelf is to know your mind.
https://www.fairlightbooks.co.uk/fairli ... enge-2020/ Through our fear and despair, a sense of purpose grows within us. Between choices and decisions, between intention and appreciation, there is always challenge, and there is always opportunity. Only when we regain our courage, can we hack life out of stone like Michelangelo. https://www.biblestudytools.com/bible-s ... liath.html Be a dream maker, and a reality maker as well. Nothing about learning is too trivial to pass on. Most importantly, kindness helps our souls develop and nourish. Kindness prevails for the connection. The connection is a favorable breeze we encounter—that makes us evolve by giving more and flying high. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtU8nBnpFVE

Happy Lunar New Year! Happy fresh start of everything! English writer, philosopher, and art critic G.K. Chesterton (29 May 1874 – 14 June 1936) painted the picture for a perceiving mind: “The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective.” Only by venturing forth into the vast unknown, can we fulfill our potential. The journey is a river—what riverbank can we see now? Riverbanks. Scenes. Memories. It is time that makes every flow; it is time that makes everything flow. Time writes music for everyone. Time writes music for those who appreciate the rhythms it writes, regardless of anything else. Time writes music for the hearts that can listen. Time is a perfect composer, who can master the harmony between optimism and pessimism. Doesn’t it mean that time believes in something? It is great to have Happiers’ shining smiles again after Chinese New Year Holiday. Our heart are full of gratitude for Happiers’ passion and dedication. Happy Lunar New Year! Happy fresh start and holiday brightness! Join us. Thanks!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKYyZGtQaok
