Questions:

1. (a) What is the intention of comparison? (b) In most cases, we try to compare ourselves to those who are in our peer group or with whom we are similar. Why not try to compare ourselves to some celebrities? What do you think about with whom we compare? If you have any different opinions, please share with us.

2. Have you ever compared yourself to others in order to make some decisions or evaluate something in society or workplace? Upward or downward comparisons, what kind of comparisons do you make? Please share your experience with us

3. How to avoid the negative emotions brought to you by "comparison"? Do you have any recommendations?

4. Harry was devastated when he fail the bar exam. He took out his phone, logged into Facebook and browsed through the message that his friends had posted. He hoped to see some inspirational information that his friends posted on social media and thought these messages might cheer him up. But the things were getting worse. The more Harry spent time on his friend’s posts, the worse his mood became. The bad feeling made him feel sad.

The materials would have made him feel more hopeful and optimistic. But he didn’t know why these supportive and inspirational messages make him feel like a failure? What makes these scenarios happened? Do you have similar experience before? What do you think about it?
