Dear Taichung Happiers,

When in doubt, think of the Day and sing out loud!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxxloH2wPrc

I love listening to commencement speeches—how about you? In the graduation, did you fly into a mood so fearless that nobody can hold you back? Oxford Dictionary directly defines “commencement” as one word: beginning. Oh, how intriguing it is that we have “commencement” (beginning) speeches while finishing the degree! Truly, how far can it be between school and life? Just one knock away. Finishing the degree is the beginning of the next step to knock the door to the future. Knock the door of Roots and Wings to begin boosting the chances of achieving your life purpose; knock the door of Roots and Wings to begin building the GPS in your heart guiding you in the right direction; knock the door of Roots and Wings to begin bringing about something bigger. In the Graduation Ceremony, what’s the picture in your mind? Is it like a small boat in the ocean, sending big waves into motion? Dear friends, our host Joey is inviting Happiers to a joyful “Knock, Knock” journey. Whether you are in the graduation, drunk on the graduation, or about to spend the next few weekends on watching some people’s Graduation Caps, welcome to join us.

Dream big to knock the door. In the Graduation Ceremony, looking at the diploma with a gorgeous smile, without any confusion lingering at the corners of our mouths, we got only one song in the head. “I’ve died everyday waiting for you. Darling, don’t be afraid, I’ve loved you for a thousand years…………..” Yep, and we definitely will love it for a thousand more. What is the true value of this degree? Although they say the longevity for the afterlife of a graduation speech is about 15 minutes, Harvard has the voice of the most loved “book” in the world.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmYv8XGl-YU The point of this speech, comprehensively committing ourselves to something bigger, bigger than ourselves, is a precise and praiseworthy portrait of the door American essayist, poet, and philosopher Henry David Thoreau (July 12, 1817 – May 6, 1862) had built. "I have learned this at least by my experiment; that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dream, and endeavors to live the life which he had imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours." Now, check out something about the story Tiger in a Tutu and the author. https://mudwaffler.com/2016/05/03/tiger-in-a-tutu/ See? Your big dream is like a box of chocolates—you never know what you are going to get, and it can feed more than a million and a half souls. All right, if “Dream Big” sounds a bit scary, it’s time to perceive the paradox. In The First Letter of Letters to a Young Poet, Bohemian-Australia poet and novelist Rainer Maria Rilke (4 December 1875 – 29 December 1926) brings up the concept that our everyday life is as “big” as our big dream! https://www.poets.org/poetsorg/text/letters-young-poet-first-letter Meanwhile, the two stories above also profoundly prove the power of circulation—the circulation with people, places, nature, and all the moments—dream big to knock the door.

"What Is Success" (by Ralph Waldo Emerson)

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people

and the affection of children;

to earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;

to appreciate beauty;

to find the best in others;

to leave the world a bit better
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;

to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here.

This is to have succeeded.

Differentiate as much as possible to knock the door. If you were Peter Parker, what kind of graduation would you love?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiTECkLZ8HM The 28th President of the United States Woodrow Wilson (December 28, 1856 – February 3, 1924) admonished people: “The rule for every man is, not to depend on the education which other men have prepared for him—not even to consent to it; but to strive to see things as they are, and to be himself as he is. Defeat lies in self-surrender.” In other words, to find your Kryptonite (With it, you can beat Superman), you should focus on what really matters. Most importantly, be yourself and help people be themselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j393lNECNGw When night falls, the silence falls, yet, the Kryptonite in your heart is calling, calling, calling. Nevertheless, it truly takes time to progress this “listening” proficiency. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sZdcB6bjI8 Soooooo, why don’t we practice doing the right thing? When you push a pull door, and someone says you have to pull…………, what will you do to excite yourself? Surely enough, everyone’s story can be so singular and stirring—share it out loud—it can lay a different light on the ideas people have had of this world.

Delight yourself and others to knock the door. Sugar?! Yes, please. "Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine." What a radiant reminder from Anthony J D Angelo, the founder of Collegiate Empowerment (who has spent most of his time in pursuit of his education, not his degree). Yes! This Little Owl also leads his own sunshine into the night.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lv7vYHqnXNc Your life value translates your big dream into the positive focus. No positivity, no pure enjoyment; positivity sustains happiness. Above all, positivity is the genie who only dances to the flute of savoring. https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/what-matters-most/201602/being-positive-it-s-not-mindfulness-it-s-savoring Moreover, it’s what we do every day, day in and day out, that affects how we feel—nothing can be more important than this, nothing. How we communicate with ourselves every day? Wave your magic wand of Humor to transform negativity into positivity and make the moment fulfilled. Here is the humor of the everyday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzxFqJuatXU Enjoyment is an open door, so is love. The beauty of life is not how enjoyable your life is, but how enjoyable others’ lives can be-- because of you.

G is for graduation, as well as for gratitude. Be grateful to the journey, to all the things and people we’ve encountered. American professional golfer Arnold Daniel Palmer (September 10, 1929 – September 25, 2016) was one of the greatest players in the sport's history, because of his surprising sight. “The most rewarding things in life are often the ones that look like they cannot be done.” Therefore, please don’t forget what you came to Happy English Club for. Also, please remember that everyone is special in their own way; we make each other strong. Join us. Thanks.
