Thanks a lot for your attention.

Questions:
1. Have you experienced any personality tests during the job interview process? The tests can even include Numerology, Physiognomy, Astrology, etc. Please share your experiences and opinions with us.

2. According to this article and the References , do you think personality assessments can help a boss or an HR manager find a better employee candidate?

3. Do you believe Personality/Psychological Tests or Astrology can give people valid information about themselves? Yes or No? Why (not)? Some people say it is all about “Barnum effect”, so that’s ridiculous to put labels on themselves. What do you think of it?
PS: “Barnum effect”: individuals ascribe a high level of accuracy to statements and personality descriptions that are supposedly tailored just for them but which are, in fact, generic and equally applicable to just about anybody.

4. Sometimes it is really hard to know what people think of us or why people do something to us. What causes people’s emotions and behaviors toward us? Do you have your own way to further understand your partners, colleagues, friends, or people you want to know?

Dear Taichung Happiers,

Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the truest me in the world?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=INncQ_K9Ksw

Personality shapes who we are--can favorite foods, sports, and films predict personality traits? What is a better performance predictor, personality or cognitive ability test? Joyce Diane Brothers (October 20, 1927 – May 13, 2013), an American psychologist, television personality, and columnist, proclaimed her professional perception. "An individual's self-concept is the core of his personality. It affects every aspect of human behavior: the ability to learn, the capacity to grow and change. A strong, positive self-image is the best possible preparation for success in life." So, where is the “mirror”, in your mind or your heart? What weigh more on personality, nature or nurture? Will different cultures change people’s personality, for example, collectivist vs individualist? I know, I know, too many question marks already. However, we don’t know we don’t know until we know. Ladies and gentlemen, for the love of further understanding how personality elevates people for collective confidence and profound performance, your stunning sharing will be wholeheartedly welcomed.

Wanted: A solution-oriented personality. Chameleons change colors; likewise, the Pink Da Vinci is solution-oriented from hair to toe.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWYLM9opelw No doubt, in this overwhelming era of technology, performance requirements change over time--entrepreneurs decided to find out if a solution-oriented personality can improvise better even in the most difficult contexts. It can. After the first step of understanding the problem, creativity is the key to developing the solutions: interacting more, inquiring information, enchanting energy, and improving decision-making. Perhaps, we need more candles, instead of mirrors. Japanese psychologist Tadahiko Nagao traces the creativity connection, “Every human personality is the product of an innate drive to create something unique from one’s raw individual experience.” Along the creativity process, inevitable intricacies and paradoxes fill our throats like salty water we can’t really swallow. Nevertheless, looking farther and wider, where you can apply your talents to new experiences is beyond expectation and imagination. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-switch/wp/2016/04/07/why-poets-are-flocking-to-silicon-valley/?utm_term=.023056a48e8b To find the creative candles from within, we ought to be open to art and nature appreciation, risking-taking, autonomy, and responsibility. Fortunately, creativity is teachable. https://hbr.org/2015/02/you-can-teach-someone-to-be-more-creative Let the openness to new experiences be the accessibility of the ocean for a solution-oriented personality.

“New World” (By Shel Silverstein)

Upside-down trees swingin' free,
Busses float and buildings dangle:
Now and then it’s nice to see
The world– – from a different angle.

Wanted: A sunny personality. Irish playwright, novelist, essayist, and poet Oscar Wilde (16 October 1854 – 30 November 1900) retained an admirable reflection. "It's beauty that captures your attention; personality which captures your heart." Now, somehow, another story just pops up: “I married Miss Right. I just didn't know her first name was Always.” Oh, why not? I mean, as long as you can’t stop feeling her sunny personality. According to Professor Scott Barry Kaufman’s findings, adequate personality advance dances like moonlight on the water. It can not only attract more happiness but also make your authenticity resurface again and release a better version of yourself.
https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2016/08/would-you-be-happier-with-a-different-personality/494720/ Furthermore, please allow me to remind Happiers that change needs more patience. All of the concentration marks the edge of the ocean water. It’s like, without the spots, giraffes’ big hearts won’t sing; giraffes’ spots for a waiting destiny come from a sunny awakening. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pR-wMkOweVo Nothing can be healthier than a sunny personality—we don’t need more coffee to maintain our sunny personality—mutual trust and humility highlight our sunny spots. All right, check out what’s shimmering in the sunlight! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI01wBXGHUs&t=2s Let the agreeableness be the amiability of the ocean for a sunny personality.

Wanted: A social personality. Social skills weave the magic wand which interprets your identity into reputation. Here comes American author Steven Brust’s translation:“I'm told I'm very charming when people do what I want.” Welcome to communicate out loud about what you do, due to who you are.
https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-secret-life-shyness/201704/can-social-skills-be-taught A social personality doesn’t necessarily result in how many “likes” on your FB page, rather, how much respect and acceptance you give to yourself and others means everything. A social personality is a flower crown with the colors of the ocean--a social personality is a gift helping people understand this world and understand themselves. Hopefully, last week’s discussion on communication has enhanced Happiers’ energetic attitude toward a social personality. In addition, it’s never too early to learn. Sport is a total training in particular, for social skills, a teamwork spirit, and service practice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD7AEZRUeeA Let the extraversion be the mobility of the ocean for a social personality.

Wanted: A Saturday personality. Saturday! Saturday= Playful + Meaningful. Saturday is delicious, because we have the glorious side and we have the curious side. If you are waiting for the main course, it would be the “Personality of our Club”. What do we prepare for this personality? Remember what the Bremen Town Musicians sought for? It was the meaningful structures. It had always been the meaningful structures.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Uht3szMD0E Therefore, together, let’s give our Club its own responsible and dependable personality, a Never-Give-Up personality, shall we? Join us. Thanks!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H6oDmEkQps&t=51s
