Dear Taichung Happiers,

Dr. Strange needs no translation.

Everyday life is a treasure. In what can you be so absorbed that you don’t notice time passing? American writer, lecturer, publisher, and entrepreneur Mark Twain (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910) advocated the boundless adventure of people’s careers. “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Then, how to make your dream career starting with the beauty in your heart and carrying the smiles on as many people’s faces as possible along the journey? Welcome to enjoy an enchanting Saturday afternoon with our host Harry on this “Dream” talk.

Confidence shines the road--even less traveled--to the space and strength for your career. World champion athlete Arthur Robert Ashe, Jr. (July 10, 1943 – February 6, 1993) unlocked the layered doors to success. “One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation.” And, I believe perfect preparation requires self-awareness, trust in yourself and others, and optimism. Be aware that You Are Special and how you feel about yourself matters most, despite others’ opinions to interfere it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15QuHygLwFU&app=desktop Putting trust in yourself and others empowers you to inspire and be inspired; noticing and nourishing your nature takes patience and persistence—no worries, it will be more than profitable. Moreover, optimism is the most modest magic blossoming into miracles. Now, please meet this blind, self-taught little pianist Ye-Eun, for optimism authorizes her blindness to see Mozart more distinctly than we do! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huMYw9yY1K8 Above all, confidence is no other than honesty and dignity.

Creativity is the invisible wing flying you high above the skyline of your career; creativity, like true love, waits. However, I can’t wait to share the story of Indian American astrophysicist Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar (October 19, 1910 – August 21, 1995), who turned himself from the most embarrassed lecturer into the most successful one. At the University of Chicago, there were only two students attending his classes….. Nevertheless, a few years later, both these two students won the Nobel Prize for Physics, and, at last, Professor Chandrasekhar was also awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1983. How incredible! So, what grows your deepest desire to create? How do you plant the seeds of creativity? When you share your creativity out loud, what value can you cultivate? Hereby, I would love to invite your attention to two of the most creative ladies: author and illustrator Maira Kalman
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30gBf0cUNLA as well as author and Professor Dr. Monika Petraite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgJejeDkZ9w Intriguing, aren’t they?

Commitment composes the only authentic symphony of your career--commence your career with the commitment of compassion--make a difference instead of making a name for yourself. Being bewitched by the orchestra performing like exclusively for your heart, you can imagine a wider range of possibilities for the next chapter of this symphony……. In other words, I believe what our best friend Albert Einstein believed: “our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.” Therefore, in order to amplify your and others’ progress, be patient with each other’s difference and growth. Hey, let’s practice to sense how this Fish in a Tree feels.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGCyKvlv3TM Besides, please bear in mind that we are never fully dressed without a smile for the random acts of kindness. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/pasta-italian-police-elderly-couple-crying-neighbours-rome-a7178691.html

From “Task of a Poet” (by Dejan Stojanovic)

To be a lantern in the darkness
Or an umbrella in a stormy day;
To feel much more than know.
To be the eyes of an eagle, slope of a mountain;

To be a wave understanding the influence of the moon;
To be a tree and read the memory of the leaves;
To be an insignificant pedestrian on the streets
Of crazy cities watching, watching, and watching.

So, why Happy English Club? Inspirational Writer Israelmore Ayivor has made a respectable request: “We all have our unique careers that differ from one another, but the fact is that we must become ‘teachers and learners’ at the end of it all! By the ‘learning career’, we know what other people know; by the ‘teaching career’, we make other people to know what we know!” Being proud of Happiers, I believe our gatherings always make us “teachers and learners” at the same time. What is smiling mysteriously and whispering stories in your ear? Join us. Thanks.
