How (and Why) to Develop Your Mental Toughness
Venue:台中市南屯區 大業路182號 Mos Burger二樓
Thanks a lot for your attention. Questions:
1. Have you built your dreams, set goals, or made New Year Resolutions? To date, how much progress have you made toward your dreams, goals, or New Year Resolutions?
2. When it comes to being persistent to what you want, do you have other tips, tactics or advice to share, or they have already been listed on this article? Please share them with us.
3. As the article mentions, motivation is not easy, have you been motivated by some events, people, books, movies, etc.? Please share your experiences with us.
4. The Chinese proverb says : There are always ups and downs in our lives(人生不如意十之八九). This is to see the difficulties that we encounter from another wisdom perspective. In comparison with mental toughness, can you recognize any differences between them? (In our host Gary’s understanding , Chinese proverb focuses more on adaptation, and mental toughness focuses more on persistence. What do you think?)

Dear Taichung Happiers,
How persistent are you? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41aGCrXM20EPlease finish this sentence: I can't wait to start my New Year’s Resolution in 2018, because _______________________________. And, congratulations, if you still believe in your childhood dreams and always make your New Year’s Resolutions related to them. Please also remember that the only super power nobody can steal from you is the will power. This weekend, our host Gary Pai is introducing the twin bro of will power—mental toughness. What can guard a growth mindset to cope with continuous challenges with a spirited smile? Only will power and mental toughness! What can cultivate character to communicate your true color encouraging yourself and inspiring others? Only will power and mental toughness!! What can create courage to shape and stabilize your next step along the journey? Only will power and mental toughness!!! All right, who can be a more distinguished Dream House architect than American essayist, poet, philosopher, and historian Henry David Thoreau (July 12, 1817 – May 6, 1862)? “If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them.” Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to bring your castle blueprint and join our host Gary in putting forward the Treasure Map for Happiers’ personal and professional lives.
Strong structures make a castle a castle. Inside the strongest structure, lies unbreakable confidence sustaining mental toughness; therefore, be an opportunity maker. Tell me, please, are you mentally strong? https://mentaltraininginc.com/services/mental-toughness-test In order to keep the dream alive, hit the snooze button with your confidence? No worries. Where is positivity, there are opportunities. Except for genes, the factors affecting our confidence contain whether the surrounding people will belittle us and how we choose to conduct ourselves to a positive window. Most importantly, as this speaker reminds us that we’re not separated from the whole, we’d better start to think about who we are impacting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wl8zPw8u4hg American poet, essayist, and journalist Walt Whitman (May 31, 1819 – March 26, 1892) directed our attention. “Keep your face always toward the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you.” However, do you know you are an opportunity maker? Well, you know you don’t know because you don’t know you know. So, don’t ask Siri—ask Nemo, please. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aVVYr0kEBIg Systematic strategies sculpt the security river protecting your castle. Sufficiently implemented strategies rely severely on persistence sustaining mental toughness; therefore, be a possibility maker. “If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much space.” Especially, everyone is a performer and curator at the same time. After defining your deepest desires, organize and exhibit the art works of your energy and amenity strategy—more alternatives will be your guests—the constant changes will transform into a perfect platform. Having consulted to major corporations and taught in Stanford University, David J. Evans proposes the Life Designing project, which starts with curiosity and encourages collaboration and mindfulness process to engage more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syJONL-pkyQ No picture can visualize the Life Designing project more precisely than the Geese do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rOg4WfNDfM&app=desktop Also, William James (January 11, 1842 – August 26, 1910), an American philosopher, psychologist, and physician, submitted a superb poetic strategy. “When you live your life with an appreciation of coincidences and their meanings, you connect with the underlying field of infinite possibilities.” Now, to be a possibility maker, think about: in what game, the small one can become the big one? Yesssssss. Chess! Check out this true story Queen of Katwe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4l3-_yub5AMelinda Mae (by Shel Silverstein)
Have you heard of tiny Melinda Mae,
Who ate a monstrous whale?
She thought she could,
She said she would,
So she started in right at the tail.
And everyone said,'You're much too small,'
But that didn't bother Melinda at all,
She took little bites and she chewed very slow,
Just like a little girl should...
...and eighty-nine years later she ate that whale
Because she said she would! ! !
Showering sparks showcase the true value of your castle. We can never afford to underestimate the power of resilience sustaining mental toughness; therefore, be a novelty maker. Author Jyoti Arora tells us why. “And when all else seems lost and steeped in hopelessness, the magic of creativity can still keep you going. For when all else seem dark, an urge to create something would still give you an aim to look forward to. And if you just take hold of this urge, it will take hold of you and see you through even the darkest times.” Indeed, everyone is creative—and, we don’t need scientists testify that trying a new ice cream flavor is terrifically helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zO2LdDpx-Tc Like confidence, creativity can be trained by rejecting “No”. The sweet story Ish has more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrmOgS7KGLw Above all, the complete faith and complete inner freedom are conveying us to share creativity out loud to inspire as more people as possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsUoh8qb_pEMake “Soft” the new strong. Whatever your most proud is, however difficult your commitment is, the most stable foundation of your castle would be giving—giving positive energy to your family, community, and society. Promise yourself to build a habitable and defensible castle with righteousness and greatness. Cheerfully, no matter how far we’ll go, we call the castle “Home”; no matter how far we’ll go, we commend and credit Happy English Club as our home. Join us. Thanks!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsBkwt3BkFUWith Gratitude,
